Website privacy policy

1. What this policy covers

This policy describes what Eternity Recovery Center collects when you visit eternityrecovery.com, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only.

It does not cover your treatment records. Once you become a patient, the health information we create and hold is governed by HIPAA, by 42 CFR Part 2 (the federal rule protecting substance use disorder treatment records), and by California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act. Those protections are described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is a stricter and more detailed document than this one.

One point worth stating up front: submitting a form on this website does not make you a patient, and it does not create a provider–patient relationship. It starts a conversation.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

The only way this website collects personal information about you is if you choose to fill in and submit one of our inquiry forms. Depending on the form, it may ask for:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Whether you are asking for yourself or for someone else
• Your preferred way to be contacted
• Your insurance carrier and member ID, if you are asking us to verify benefits
• Anything you choose to write in the message box

Name and email are required so we can reply. Everything else is optional. You do not have to tell us anything clinical to get a response — a sentence about what you are looking for is enough.

Form submissions are sent by email to our admissions inbox at Info@eternityrecovery.com. Our email is HIPAA compliant. What you send is treated as confidential, and if you go on to become a patient, the inquiry becomes part of your protected record.

Information collected automatically

Our web host keeps standard server logs, as essentially all web hosts do. These typically record the IP address making the request, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and the browser and operating system reported by your device. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not try to identify individual visitors from them.

This site sets no cookies. It stores nothing in your browser's local storage. The light and dark theme toggle works only for the current page view and is forgotten as soon as you leave.

3. How we use it

We use what you send us to:

• Respond to your question, by the method you asked us to use
• Verify insurance benefits, if that is what you asked for
• Schedule an assessment or a call
• Keep the website secure and working properly
• Meet our legal and accreditation obligations

We do not use your information to advertise to you. We do not add you to a marketing list. We do not send newsletters unless you specifically ask for one.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We have never sold it and we will not sell it. We do not trade it with lead brokers, referral services, or advertisers.

The categories of third parties that may handle information from this website are limited to:

• Our web hosting and email providers, which necessarily process the data as they deliver the site and carry your message to us.
• Fontshare, the type foundry service that serves the two fonts used on this site. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from api.fontshare.com, and that request includes your IP address. Fontshare does not receive anything you type into a form.
• Your health plan, but only if you asked us to verify your benefits, and only to the extent needed to do that.
• Anyone the law requires, in the narrow circumstances where a valid legal obligation applies. Where the information is a substance use disorder treatment record, the far stricter rules in 42 CFR Part 2 govern, and are described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

This website uses no cookies, no analytics service, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no heat mapping, no call tracking, and no live chat widget. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no Meta pixel, and no Google Ads conversion tag.

We built it this way deliberately. People researching treatment for a substance use disorder should be able to read about it without being followed around the internet afterwards.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal telling websites you do not want your activity tracked across sites. There is no common industry standard for how sites must respond to that signal.

Because this website does not track visitors across websites or over time at all, there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to turn off. We therefore do not respond differently to Do Not Track signals, and no tracking occurs whether or not you send one. The same is true of Global Privacy Control signals.

7. Third-party tracking across websites

We do not permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activity over time and across different websites when you use this site. The only third-party request the site makes is to Fontshare for the font files described above, which is not used for behavioral tracking or advertising.

8. How long we keep information

Inquiries that do not lead to admission are kept only as long as needed to answer them and to show we responded appropriately, and are then deleted. If you become a patient, your record is retained for the period required by California law and by the conditions of our DHCS certification, and is protected under our Notice of Privacy Practices for that whole period. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host and then rotate out.

9. How we protect information

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so what you type into a form is encrypted in transit. Access to our admissions inbox is limited to staff who need it, and all of our staff are trained on confidentiality under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Our email is HIPAA compliant.

Standard text messaging is not a secure channel. If you choose text as your preferred contact method, we will use it only to arrange a time to talk, and we will not discuss clinical details by text.

No method of transmitting information over the internet is perfectly secure. If you are ever uncomfortable putting something in writing, call us at (747) 217-0070 instead.

10. Reviewing and changing your information

You can ask us at any time what you sent through this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email Info@eternityrecovery.com or call (747) 217-0070 and say what you want changed. We will confirm your identity first, then act on the request and tell you when it is done.

If you have already become a patient, your rights over your health record are broader, and are set out in section 9 of our Notice of Privacy Practices.

11. California privacy rights

Confidentiality of Medical Information Act

As a California health care provider, we are subject to the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, Civil Code section 56 and following, which restricts the disclosure of medical information without your authorization and is in addition to the federal protections described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

California Consumer Privacy Act

The CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, expressly does not apply to protected health information collected by a HIPAA covered entity, or to medical information governed by the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (Civil Code section 1798.145(c)(1)). Nearly everything we collect falls into one of those two categories, and is handled under HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and the CMIA rather than the CCPA.

Separately, the CCPA applies only to businesses that meet at least one statutory threshold — annual gross revenue above roughly $26.6 million, buying or selling the personal information of 100,000 or more California residents or households, or deriving half or more of revenue from selling or sharing personal information. We do not meet any of those thresholds.

Regardless of whether the CCPA applies to us, we do not sell or share your personal information, we will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request, and we will honor requests to know, correct, or delete what you have sent us. Use the contact details in section 15.

Shine the Light

California Civil Code section 1798.83 lets California residents request information about personal information disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information for that purpose.

12. Children

Our programs serve adults, and this website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this site. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Links to other websites

This site links to outside resources, including government agencies such as SAMHSA and the California Department of Health Care Services, The Joint Commission, and mapping services for directions to our office. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Following a link takes you out from under this policy.

14. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy — for example, if we begin using an analytics tool — we will post the revised policy on this page with a new effective date before the change takes effect, and we will note what changed. The date at the top of this page always tells you which version is in force. We suggest checking it if you have not visited in a while. We do not have a mailing list, so we cannot notify you individually.
