Admissions
How to get started
Admission to outpatient treatment should be clear and unhurried. Here is exactly what happens, in order, from the first message to your first day.
The six steps of admission
Make contact
Call the admissions line or send a message through this site. You can also have a family member, therapist, physician, or case manager reach out on your behalf.
Confidential pre-screen
A short conversation about what is happening, what you have tried, and what your schedule and living situation allow. There is no cost and no commitment at this stage.
Verification of benefits
With your permission we contact your insurer to confirm your outpatient behavioral health benefits, then explain what we learn — including likely out-of-pocket costs — before you decide anything.
Clinical assessment
A licensed clinician completes a full biopsychosocial assessment covering substance use, mental health, medical history, medications, and support at home.
Level-of-care recommendation
We recommend PHP, IOP, or OP based on that assessment — or refer you elsewhere if a different setting, such as withdrawal management or residential care, is indicated.
First day and schedule
We confirm your start date, walk you through your weekly schedule, and introduce the clinician who will lead your care.
Preparing
What to bring on your first day
- Photo identification and your insurance card, if you are using insurance
- A list of current medications and doses, including anything prescribed elsewhere
- Contact information for your primary care physician or outside prescribers, and any referring clinician
- Names and numbers for emergency contacts and anyone you want involved in your care
- Relevant prior treatment records or discharge summaries, if you have them — helpful, not required
- Water, a notebook, and a comfortable layer; clinical days are long and rooms run cool
Do not bring alcohol, non-prescribed substances, or weapons. If you are unsure whether to bring something, ask during your pre-screen.
Insurance & payment
What we can and cannot promise
We work with most major PPO plans. Because benefits differ substantially from plan to plan, the only honest answer about your coverage comes from checking your specific policy — which we will do at no cost, with your authorization.
- No-cost verification of benefits before you commit to a program
- A plain-language explanation of deductibles, coinsurance, and expected out-of-pocket costs
- Self-pay options discussed openly for people not using insurance
- No surprises: cost expectations are reviewed with you before admission
Important
A verification of benefits is an estimate based on information from your insurer — not a guarantee of coverage, authorization, or payment. Final benefit determinations are made solely by your insurance plan. We do not name or endorse specific carriers on this site.
Verification of benefits
Request a benefits check
Send us the basics and our admissions team will follow up by email to collect what is needed to verify your outpatient behavioral health benefits.
Confidentiality & HIPAA
We protect client information under HIPAA and, for substance use disorder records, the additional federal protections of 42 CFR Part 2. We will not disclose that you are a client to an employer, family member, or anyone else without your written authorization, except in the narrow circumstances the law requires.
Please keep this form non-clinical
Web forms and email are not secure channels. Do not include diagnoses, medications, member ID numbers, or clinical history here — we will gather that information through a secure process.

Insurance & admissions inquiry
One of our admissions coordinators will respond by email. No obligation, and nothing is submitted to your insurer without your authorization.
Good to know
Common admissions questions
Can someone else start the process for me?
Yes. Family members, friends, therapists, physicians, and case managers frequently make the first call. We can talk with them generally about our programs and process, but we will need your participation and authorization before any assessment or release of information.
How long does admission take?
It depends on scheduling, benefits verification, and clinical availability. Our aim is to move quickly without skipping the assessment that makes a placement appropriate. Your admissions coordinator will give you a realistic timeline for your situation.
What if I need detox first?
We do not provide medically supervised withdrawal management on site. If your assessment indicates that detox or a higher level of care is needed first, we will explain why and help coordinate a referral, then discuss stepping into our outpatient programs afterward.
Will my employer or school find out?
Not from us. Disclosure requires your written authorization, with narrow legal exceptions. If you need documentation for a leave of absence or an accommodation, we can discuss what can be provided and what you would need to authorize.
Do you treat adolescents?
Our programs serve adults. If you are seeking care for a minor, contact us and we will point you toward appropriate resources in the Los Angeles area.
